Biography
I completed my Ph.D. in Biochemistry under the guidance of Dr. Surekha M. Zingde at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research, and Education (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai. I joined the laboratory of Dr. Lopa Mishra at Georgetown University Medical Centre, Washington DC, to study TGF-beta signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma. I joined the laboratory of Dr. Shalini Oberdoerffer at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/ National Cancer Institute (NCI), Maryland, in 2010, where we identified a novel mechanism of regulation of alternative pre-mRNA splicing (Nature 2011). I joined IISER Bhopal in May 2013, where I study the interplay between epigenetic modifications and alternative pre-mRNA splicing in the context of Cancer Biology.
